SPIRULINA FOR HEALTH, HAIR AND SKIN

Hi all!
You may have heard of "Spirulina" ...
Spirulina is a supplementary widely used in weight loss diets to reduce appetite.
It is considered the beauty secret of Asians, who usually ingest it and add it in face masks and creams. It is found in capsule, tablet, and powder form.

But ... what is Spirulina?

Arthrospira platensis, known as Spirulina (or Spirulina), is a type of blue-green oceanic micro-algae, and is presumed to have been present since the beginning of life on Earth. It manages to defend itself against all aggressions and survived climatic disturbances for centuries.

The Aztecs and Incas were the first to cultivate this blue-green alga as a complete food, which allowed them to feed their very large population, in combination with another very rich plant: Maca.

Spirulina develops naturally in Andean lakes of volcanic origin, as well as in Texcoco Lake in Mexico. It also grows in the great lakes of Africa, particularly in Chad.
Today, the high level of interest in this micro-algae and the increase in its demand has been developed worldwide. Recently more and more countries have decided to cultivate Spirulina for its nutritional values, including China, Thailand, India, Hawaii and some states of the USA, like California.

Composition:
A Spirulina é It is truly one of the richest and most complete food sources. It has over 100 types of nutrients, more than any other type of grain, plant or herb. It is widely used as a dietary supplement to increase energy, maintain health, reduce weight, and other health, skin and hair benefits.
For a long time, spirulina has been used as a dietary supplement. One of the advantages is that spirulina is an excellent source of vegetable protein.  The level of protein that spirulina contains is said to be higher than the levels found in meat and fish .
It also provides a number of multivitamins such as vitamin B12 as well as mineral salts such as sodium, potassium, magnesium, iron and phosphorus . Iron is essential for building a strong system, but it is the most common mineral deficiency. The iron contained in spirulina is easier for the body to absorb than other iron supplements. Spirulina is the richest beta carotene food
, with a full spectrum of ten mixed carotenoids. About half are orange carotenes. Alpha, beta and gamma; and half are yellow xanthophylls.
They work synergistically at different locations in our body to increase antioxidant protection
Beta carotene is good for eyes and vision. Beta carotene contained in spirulina is ten times more concentrated than in carrots.
It is rich in gamma linolenic acid (omega 6) which is found in very few substances. Gamma-Linolenic acid is considered beneficial because of its ability to lower cholesterol and prevent heart disease.
GLA (Gamma-Linolenic Acid) is a compound found in breast milk that helps in the healthy development of babies. In addition, due to its high digestibility, spirulina has been used to combat malnutrition in underserved communities, helping the body to absorb nutrients after losing the ability to absorb normal forms of food.
Spirulina is also rich in chlorophyll, which absorbs solar energy to make carbohydrates, increasing its energy.

Due to its ultra rich composition, Spirulina is used to combat malnutrition worldwide.

Here are some health benefits of spirulina:

Rich in antioxidants

Spirulina is a rich source of antioxidants including vitamin E, selenium, carotenoids and phenolic acids. Antioxidants fight free radicals and prevent cell deterioration, helping to protect the body against cancer, heart disease, premature ageing and other damage that free radicals can do to cells and DNA. Fighting Infections and Improving Immunity Laboratory studies have found that spirulina fights infections, and can destroy bacteria and viruses. It can be effective against influenza, mumps, measles, candida, herpes simplex, HIV and others.

It also stimulates macrophage production in the immune system, helping to eliminate invading pathogens and enhancing the potential of our immuno defense mechanism in body.

Healing

Helps Heal and Heals Injuries.

Treats Atopic Dermatitis (Eczema)

Due to its anti-inflammatory ability and by stimulating the immune system, spirulina is very successfully used in treatments for eczema.

Treats acne and folliculitis

Spirulina helps fight off excess bacteria in the body, including the skin. It even speeds up skin metabolism, making it free of dead cells more efficiently.

Stimulates beneficial flora of digestive tract

Spirulina stimulates lactobacilli and bifidobacteria to promote healthy digestion and proper functioning of the intestines. It acts as a natural cleanser, eliminating mercury and other deadly toxins commonly ingested by the body. A healthy gut flora is the foundation of good health, aiding in the absorption of nutrients from the foods we eat, relieving constipation, and helping to protect against infection.

Increases Endurance Levels in Athletes

Spirulina is especially recommended for athletes who want to avoid muscle fatigue and disabilities.

The high protein content and nutrients contained in spirulina help promote muscle mass gain, increase muscle endurance, reduction of muscle cramps, reduction of muscle fatigue, besides the oxygenate the body and muscles, favoring high level athletes.

Eliminates Toxins wherever

Currently subject to a toxic chemical attack on our air, water, food and medicine; and our body needs to constantly eliminate these accumulated toxins.
Spirulina detoxifies the body from heavy metals, pollutants, and harmful radiation as it has a completely unique combination of phytonutrients - including chlorophyll, phycocyanin, and polysaccharides, which can help cleanse the body.
In 1994, a Russian patent was awarded for promoting spirulina as a medicinal food to reduce the allergic reactions of radiation-induced illnesses.
270 Chernobyl children consumed 5 grams a day for 45 days.
This decreased radionuclides by 50%, and had normalized allergic sensitivity.

High blood pressure, cholesterol and diabetes

Reduces high blood pressure and high cholesterol, and regulates the level of sugar in the blood (glycemia).

Treats anemia

Due to its richness in iron, spirulina is very effective in combating anemia

Help in weight loss

In addition to being a complete supplement, spirulina satisfies your appetite better than any other food; This is why it is widely used in obesity treatments.

Improves Mental Health

Spirulina helps balance the nervous system, reduces stress, depression, anxiety, nervousness, improves concentration and memory.

PMS and menopause

Reduces painful and excessive menstrual periods; reduces the feeling of fatigue during menstruation, as Spirulina is very rich in iron. It helps to reduce the symptoms of menopause.

Prevents Cancer

Spirulina has had results of anti-tumor effects in laboratory studies. Studies have indicated that spirulina may help reduce the risk of cancer. In 2009 a Chinese research team published in "Biomedicine and Pharmacotherapy" that spirulina in combination with selenium could help prevent breast cancer. In addition, other studies have suggested that spirulina may have a significant effect on liver cancer, reducing the occurrence of liver tumors from 80% to 20%.

Twenty years of research has shown that ingesting beta carotenes from fruits and vegetables provides real anti-cancer protection.

Synthetic beta carotenes have not shown these benefits. Research in Israel has shown that natural algal beta-carotene is much more effective as it is better assimilated. As expected, natural carotenoids in algae and vegetables have greater antioxidant and anti-cancer power.

And thanks to its rich nutrients, spirulina also has benefits for skin and hair:

Hair:

> Strengthens hair, helps growth, prevents hair loss, combats dandruff, restores shine.
PS: I wondered if spirulina could help neutralize unwanted red tones in the wires ... would it? If anyone tries, tell me, okay?

Spirulina Shampoo:

> Spirulina shampoo is worldwide used to treat dandruff, hair fall, hair growth and for smoothening and shining of hair.

Skin:

> Improves age spots, eczema, acne, rashes, removes impurities, and prevents wrinkles.

And here's a basic recipe with spirulina:

> 1 tablespoon of white clay

> 1 tsp of spirulina powder
> green tea or aloe vera gel (blended)
> 1 drop of essential oil of your choice (seaweed smell nobody deserves, right?)

In this container, mix the clay and spirulina and gradually add the green tea (or aloe gel) until it becomes a paste. Apply to the skin, and let it rest until completely dry. Then massage the skin with your fingertips in a circular motion until the entire mask comes out. Wash with a cleaning soap.

For hair treatment, while bathing, massage the scalp with this paste, leave a few minutes and rinse.
