Not all foods are healthy! In fact, some foods are deadly if you eat a lot of the wrong part or if you eat it with inadequate preparation. Did you know that one of the most popular flavors of Thanksgiving is toxic? Take a look at number 4.
If you like chili, numbers one and two can change the way you see some of the ingredients. Do not trust yourself so much to eat apples and cherries, as some of its parts are not very good for you.
If you eat some of these foods, make sure you eat the correct parts and leave the numbers six and ten for the professionals.

1. The red Beans

Raw red beans are poisonous. They contain lectin, a glycoprotein that causes nausea, diarrhea and vomiting. This toxin exists in other beans, but red beans have the highest concentration. To avoid poisoning with red beans, you should cook them very well. Only four or five raw or uncooked beans are required.
The biggest culprits of the red bean poisoning are the slow cookers, so dip them and cook them completely before eating them, and do not eat uncooked red beans.

2. Tomatoes

Tomatoes are also on the list of toxic foods that we love. Tomatoes are members of the Solanaceae family along with aubergines, potatoes and belladonna. The plants in all of them contain solanine, an alkaloid that in sufficiently high doses can cause gastrointestinal symptoms, hallucinations, paralysis and death.
Do not eat the leaves and stems of tomatoes, potatoes or eggplants. Some people who are sensitive to solanine should avoid eating products of the Solanaceae family. Green potatoes contain high levels of solanine, so avoid them.

3. Bitter almonds

There are two different types of almond trees. The sweet almond is where we get our almonds. The bitter almond is a very nice tree with poisonous nuts. The nuts of the bitter almond are full of cyanide, a deadly poison.
It is illegal to buy raw unprocessed almonds in the US. But because they grow wild in some states and the two species are very similar, make sure you know what almond you are picking and eating!

4. Nutmeg

Nutmeg is spread mostly between Thanksgiving and Christmas. It gives a slightly sweet flavor to cakes, coffee and cider. It is even useful to relieve muscle and dental pain.
If you eat too much, you can develop hallucinations or nutmeg psychosis, where the user feels agitated and experiences a sense of fatality. Two to three teaspoons of nutmeg are needed, so accidental overdose is rare. Nutmeg can be abused, so keep an eye on your spice rack.

5. Mushrooms

Most people know that you do not have to eat wild mushrooms! If you did not know, here's a clue: Do not eat wild mushrooms. Even experts can confuse good and healthy mushrooms with mortals, so stick to the grocery store offers. Poisonous mushrooms contain toxins such as orellanin, gyromitrin and alpha-amanitin.
Basically, if you consume a poisonous fungus, cooked or uncooked, you can die of liver failure. If you survive, you may need a new liver. It does not take much.

6. Yuca

Cassava is not common in the United States, but it is a staple in some tropical countries. It is also known as cassava, manioc or Brazilian arrowroot. It is a brown root that appears in grocery stores that cater to ethnic populations.
The cooked root is delicious, but the raw root contains several different types of cyanide. If it is poorly prepared it is quite poisonous. Yucca is a vegetable that is probably best left for people who know what they are doing.

7. Rhubarb

The rhubarb has beautiful red stems and huge green leaves. Rhubarb is used in cakes, jams and is enjoyed raw for its sour taste. It is full of nutrients and most people grow it easily. However ... Since it's on the list, you can guess which parts of the rhubarb are toxic.
The leaves contain oxalates and anthraquinone glycosides. Oxalates can reduce the absorption of minerals and can cause kidney stones. Anthraquinone is both a laxative and a laxative.

8. Apple and cherries, apricots and peaches seeds

Apple seeds are a bit easier to eat than those of cherry, apricots or peaches, but eating too many of any of these seeds can be toxic. These seeds contain amygdaline. If you digest them, especially if they chew, the amygdalin becomes hydrogen cyanide. This is very poisonous.
You will probably need to eat many seeds (two cups), so unless you deliberately propose to eat enough to poison yourself, you will probably be safe if you swallow one or two seeds.

9. Beans

Castor oil used to be indicated for stomach upset. If you've tried it, you probably did not love it. It is also found in food aromas and colors. The castor oil grain is extremely toxic. A castor can kill a child.
Castor beans contain ricin, which is much more toxic than cyanide. There is no remedy for ricin poisoning.
Castor bean plants can grow in some parts of the USA. UU And it is a beautiful and exotic looking plant. Just avoid the beans!

10. Fugu

Most of us will probably never try the fugu. The pufferfish is a delight in Japan and fans claim that it is the most delicious of all the fish. The liver, ovaries and skin of the puffer fish contain tetrodotoxin.
If the fish is not well prepared, the fish is quite poisonous and there have been deaths by eating it.
Chefs who know how to prepare the fugu with enough toxins to tingle, but not enough to kill, are highly valued.

Conclusion

Some of these foods can be found in your garden; Just keep in mind what you are tearing from a tree or nibbling, like beans. Others, such as cassava and fugu, need professional management.
And if you get lost, do not drink and eat mushrooms. You really will not enjoy the result.
And remember that plants have defenses against consumption, like Solanaceae, and while fruits can be edible, other parts definitely are not, so clean tomatoes and avoid green potatoes.
